In Mumbai’s bustling suburbs, cousins Priya and Ritu sneak away during a weekend trip to their farmhouse in Lonavala. That night, they stumble upon an old, unmarked VHS tape lying in the storeroom, covered in dust. Curious, they decide to play it. The video shows disturbing black-and-white images—flickering shadows, an old well, a broken swing, and finally the distorted face of a young girl staring directly at the screen. The moment the tape ends, the phone rings. When Priya picks up, a chilling voice whispers, “Saat din…” (Seven days).
Exactly a week later, Ritu dies in a horrific and unexplained manner, her face frozen in terror. Priya collapses soon after, leaving her family devastated and confused. Kavya, Priya’s elder sister, a young journalist in Mumbai, begins investigating the strange circumstances of her cousin’s death.
Kavya’s search leads her to discover that anyone who watches the cursed tape receives the same phone call and dies within seven days. Determined to save herself after accidentally watching the tape during her investigation, she races against time to uncover its origins.
Her trail leads her to a forgotten village in Konkan, where she learns about Shanta, a young girl who had lived decades ago. Shanta was different—she possessed psychic abilities, often predicting disasters and deaths before they happened. Instead of being revered, she was feared. Villagers accused her of being a daayan (witch) and blamed her for every misfortune. Tormented and abandoned, Shanta was eventually pushed into a well near her ancestral home by her own relatives, who hoped to silence her forever.
But Shanta’s spirit did not rest. Trapped between worlds, her anguish seeped into a videotape created years later when modern developers tried to record paranormal activities around the abandoned well. The tape became cursed, carrying fragments of her rage. Whoever watched it became a vessel for her torment.
With the help of her friend Aarav, a tech expert, Kavya tracks down the exact well where Shanta was killed. They perform rituals with a village pandit, offering prayers, lighting diyas, and chanting mantras to bring peace to her soul. Kavya even descends into the old, moss-covered well, retrieving Shanta’s remains. They cremate the bones respectfully by the riverside, ending the ages long curse of that well and that spirit.
